The Studio

Since 2003 Avoca Designs has provided graphic design and marketing support for businesses and nonprofit organizations worldwide. Our mission is to deliver seriously good design and finished printed materials on-time, comfortably within budget, and backed up by our above and beyond customer service.

We are a general design studio which means we can handle just about any project in any industry. Our areas of specialty include; complex page layouts such as catalogs, brochures, event journals; retail packaging; trade show graphics; and creative support for nonprofit in-house marketing departments.

Our Business Philosophy

One of the key reasons why freelance designers struggle is that they typically are not business oriented. Often a one-person show, they want to focus on making pretty designs and not worry so much about client development, paperwork, etc. Avoca’s dual approach solves this. We have artists who are free to create while our business side handles all the boring stuff like making sure your project is on schedule and that we have enough new business in the pipeline to keep the art department busy.

What’s With The Name?

Pronounced “uh-VOH-kuh”.  The Avoca River is formed by the union of the Avonmore and Avonbeg rivers in County Wicklow, Ireland near Dublin. Celebrated in Thomas Moore’s poem Meeting of the Waters, the river symbolizes our core philosphy of two parts – art and business – joining together to form a stronger partnership.
